Constitution Restoration Act of 2004

In keeping with our feature article on Christian Fundamentalism, this weeks link is a superficially boring but actually deeply disturbing bill known as the "Constitution Restoration Act of 2004".

Basically if this Bill becomes law it will make the Supreme Court obsolete and threaten to turn the US into a vast fundamentalist Christian Theocracy. Drafted by Pat Robertson and the Christian Dominionists (who’s founder wanted the Ten Commandments to replace the Constitution) the bill states that the Federal, State and Local government will have to acknowledge “God as the sovereign source of law, liberty, or government” and will make it matter of routine to totally disregard the views and actions of “any foreign state or international organization or agency” Christian conservative commentator Pastor Chuck Baldwin is urging people to lobby their Congressmen and Senators to get the bill passed, claiming it is “the most important legislation in the last fifty years”.
